Service Academy Nomination
Congresswoman Matsui is happy to assist high school students interested in pursuing a career in the armed forces with a nomination to a specific service academy. “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”
– President John F. Kennedy
Each year, Congresswoman Matsui nominates a small number of young people to the United States military service academies. Selections are made on the basis of SAT scores, academic transcripts, and an interview with the Academy Selection Advisory Committee, which takes place in Sacramento in early December. All military academies require that nominees be a citizen of the United States between 17 and 23 years of age, be unmarried, and have no children.
